Terms of service.

The terms on which Gotham Consult provides this website, our forums and our advisory services in Ghana.

1. Who you are contracting with

Advisory work, registrations and payments are contracted with Gotham Consult, Accra, Ghana. Renewable energy and AI/software development projects may be contracted with our partner Carlson Capital Ltd, a company registered in Ghana; the proposal for such a project says so. Company details are in the footer. Where a written proposal or invoice has been accepted and differs from these terms, the proposal governs.

2. Our services

We provide business development, investment facilitation, market entry, compliance support, technology, mining and energy project services, education and family support services, and we convene forums. What we will do for you, and what it costs, is set out in a proposal before work starts.

3. What this website is not

• Nothing on this website is legal, tax, medical or investment advice, and nothing on it creates a professional relationship by itself.
• Our summaries of Ghanaian law, including the GIPA Act 2026 (Act 1173), tax rules and mining regulation, are general information, correct to the best of our knowledge on the date shown, and subject to change. Confirm your own position with the relevant authority or a qualified adviser.
• The free tools give general guidance based on public rules. They do not replace advice on your specific situation.
• Economic figures come from public sources and are quoted as published.
• We do not guarantee any investment outcome, approval, licence, permit or funding decision. No authority's decision is ours to promise.

4. Forums, invitations and tickets

• Some events are open and others are by invitation. Where an event is by invitation, submitting the form is an application rather than a booking, and we may accept or decline it at our discretion.
• A seat is confirmed only when we confirm it, and for paid events only once payment is received.
• Unpaid seats are held for 24 hours, and for 48 hours once you report a mobile money transaction, after which they are released.
• Tickets are personal to the named attendee. Tell us in advance if someone else should take the seat.
• Programmes, speakers and venues may change. If we change the date or the venue, you may move your seat to the new date or ask for a refund.

5. Prices and payment

• Prices are shown in the currency stated, in Ghana cedis or United States dollars. Where a price is shown in a foreign currency, payment in cedis is converted at our rate on the day of invoice.
• Government fees, registry fees, regulator fees and third-party costs are additional and shown separately.
• Mobile money and bank charges are paid by the sender.
• Our fees are for preparation, advice and delivery. We never charge for access to a public official, and no part of any fee is a payment to influence a decision.
• Value added tax is charged where the law requires it, and shown on the invoice.

6. Cancellations and refunds

• Events: cancel more than 7 days before and you receive a full refund or a transfer to a later event. Within 7 days we offer a transfer rather than a refund. If you do not attend and did not tell us, the fee is not refunded.
• If we cancel an event, you receive a full refund or a transfer, whichever you prefer.
• Memberships run month to month and may be cancelled any time before the next renewal. We do not refund part months.
• Advisory work: a briefing fee is refundable until the briefing takes place. For project work, fees for work already done are not refundable, and your proposal sets out the stages.

7. Behaviour at our events

Our rooms are working rooms. We ask attendees not to use them purely to sell, and to treat other guests with respect. We may decline admission, or ask someone to leave, where behaviour is abusive or where someone misrepresents who they are. Our events are inclusive by design, and we do not accept discrimination on any ground.

8. Integrity and conflicts of interest

We work with public institutions only through their formal application and consultation processes. We charge for preparation and delivery, never for access or approvals. Where a member of our team has a personal connection to a public office, we disclose it and that person steps aside from the matter. We expect clients to observe Ghanaian anti-corruption law, and where relevant the UK Bribery Act and EU rules, and we will end an engagement rather than breach them.

9. Content and intellectual property

The text, design, reports, tools, photographs and video on this site belong to Gotham Consult, except where credited to someone else. Wikimedia photographs are used under the licences named on the main site. Some images, and the on-screen presenter, are generated with artificial intelligence and are labelled as such. Reports and deliverables we produce for you are yours to use in your business once paid for; the underlying methods, templates and tools remain ours.

10. Liability

We carry out our work with reasonable professional care and skill. Except where Ghanaian law does not allow liability to be limited, our total liability for an engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement, and we are not liable for lost profit, lost opportunity or indirect loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Disputes go first to discussion in good faith between us, then to mediation in Accra, and failing that to the courts of Ghana.
